Pros & Cons

  • I know the members of my team genuinely want me to succeed. Flexibility around remote working is also a big plus.
  • The working environment in the office, my team colleagues - they are very helpful, inclusive and compassionate and I love how flexible and considerate Findex is with my medical conditions.
  • The learning and challenging environment. This is crucial to improve and grow with the company.
  • Learn lots of things that won't be learnt in textbook at uni. Good manager good mentor - mentee relationship. Work-Life balance as I am working from Mondays to Fridays only.
  • Support from my Manager is fantastic. His knowledge and ability to communicate complex issues in a way that anyone can understand is a skill set that not many people have.
  • Due to the size of the company, internal marketing campaigns sometimes feel disingenuous.
  • Long periods of workload

I still don't get to this point as this is my second month working with the company. So far what I can say is that every time I requested feedback I received a good one, with points to improve my skills and fair assessment of my jobs delivered.

Seems to be good, I haven't worked on anything personally but CSR policies seem to be in place.

The culture within the office is very welcoming and the environment is comfortable to work in. We have team lunch together every Friday - where we go out and buy whatever lunches we want and bring it back to the office to eat together and just have a discussion. We will be doing team activities again probably every month or so - the last one we did was karaoke after end of months drinks - that was fun.

The office seems pretty diverse, especially among the younger team members. For those with kids work seems to be flexible and accommodating of their schedules.

I enjoy doing creating projects on APS with attached relevant files including entering figures for the client's individual tax returns and/or their financials statements on XPA for trusts/partnerships/companies. I also do a couple ATO calls a week in behalf of the clients.

Managers are fantastic, they have an excellent knowledge base and will go out of their way to provide the time and opportunity for questions, training and coaching.

Hiring process was quick and efficient. Mainly talked about telling them examples of certain situations I was in (like meeting deadlines, conflict type) and the work i did with a certain subject completed in my degree - I was given an assignment that consisted of doing some alignment journals on MYOB, creating financial statements, tac rec and letter of recommendation. Then combine them into a report for a made up client. Just be yourself, have a couple notes handy with examples of different situations you have experienced in school/uni, prev/current jobs and or could be also with personal life as well. I used the STAR technique and it helped me with the steps in structuring my responses.

I had gotten a pay rise for the start of the FY and it seemed reasonably. I appreciate access to health (particularly mental health) perks and services. They do also provide rotating discounts on common brands.
