In partnership with the Australian Defence Force, we are seeking a Graduate Mechanical/Electrical Engineer to work in our longstanding contract based at Bandiana, in Albury/Wodonga region.

As part of our DMSS contract with the Australian Government Department of Defence, Ventia provides materiel maintenance support of land-based equipment for the Joint Logistics Unit (JLU).

We use cutting-edge technologies and processes in advanced manufacturing to help support the Defence industry by enabling faster and more efficient production of high-quality equipment meeting specific operational applications.

This is a fantastic opportunity for final-year students or recent graduates to kick-start their career where you will be working alongside an inclusive and supportive Manufacturing Project team, expanding your expertise on unique vehicles and equipment and collaborating with leading professionals across a range of disciplines.

You will be trained and supported by the team with the following responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the design engineering and manufacturing team.
  • Provide oversight and support to operations primarily for Mechanical and Electrical assets and systems.
  • Quality assurance and management.
  • Engineering fundamentals and process.
  • Defence industry frameworks and methodologies.
  • Networking with industry providers and other advanced manufacturing companies.
  • Understanding customer requirements and negotiating expectations.
  • Assist in developing our apprenticeship career pathway program.
  • Engineering drafting.

You will have relevant qualifications or in your final year of completion, accompanied with:

  • Relevant formal qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • Previous Mechanical or Electrical experience will be an added advantage.
  • Understanding CAD and CAM principles.
  • Able to monitor legislative changes and take action accordingly.
  • Demonstrated management and organisational skills.
