Your role

Insurance is a core function of Suncorp Group, operating under several mass and niche brands. The teams share a drive to make the complex simple, contributing to the resilience of businesses and society, and providing their customers with peace of mind when it matters most.

The graduate placements offer four six-month rotations across different teams’ depending on which of the following Insurance areas you sit within:

Consumer (Brisbane & Sydney locations)

The Consumer business provides cover for our customers through personal Home & Property, Motor, CTP, and Worker's Compensation insurance. Here you would work with our brands for instance by managing the insurance portfolio’s profitability whilst balancing customer needs, and be supported with data and insights from the Customer, Pricing & Analytics, Risk, Compliance & Regulatory Change teams as you work with these areas.   Suitable for graduates studying Business, Commerce, Mathematics, and Actuarial.

Commercial & Intermediated (Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne & Perth locations)

Commercial Insurance is designed to protect the needs of businesses and their operations by offering products such as Small to Medium Business packages, Liability, Commercial Property, Commercial Fleet and Professional Lines (E.g., Professional Indemnity). In our Commercial business, you would be exposed to our Underwriting, Portfolio Management, Portfolio Analytics, Profitability, Risk Selection, Pricing, and Distribution/Sales and Service business areas.  Suitable for graduates studying Business, Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, and Actuarial.

Digital Distribution (Brisbane & Sydney locations)

We play a critical role in connecting our customers with brands and products that create value for them and help to resolve their more complex enquiries through our assisted channels. Our technology and data are integrated enabling us to make the complex simple for our people and customers, leveraging AI and digitally led experiences.   Suitable for graduates studying Business, Commerce, Design Innovation, Technology & Arts.

Performance & Executive Office (Brisbane location)

Performance & Executive Office are responsible for the claims performance and regulatory reporting across Suncorp for all our insurance brands. We believe in the execution of strong risk management practices, effective data maturity, system governance and a relentless focus on execution and business performance to support an environment where stakeholders can thrive and deliver against our collective goals.  Suitable for graduates studying Data Science, Mathematics, Business Analytics, and Engineering.

Training & development

The Graduate Program is a chance for you to gain experience and build real connections, getting exposure to a range of different and dynamic teams and business areas. You’ll get to work with some senior business leaders and receive training that’s a mixture of structured and on-the-job aimed at helping you decide where you’d like to grow and develop.

To be eligible for the Suncorp 2024 Graduate Program you must have:

  • Full working rights in Australia or New Zealand
  • Partial or full completion of undergraduate level study with an Australian or New Zealand University (or equivalent Tertiary Institution) within the last 3 years (2021 - 2023), and have completed a minimum of undergraduate level study prior to the program commencing
  • Minimum ‘pass’ grade
