Rheinmetall Defence Australia

Rheinmetall Defence Australia (RDA) is a major Defence company with operations across Australia and New Zealand delivering specialist Defence capability to the Australian Defence Force and New Zealand Defence Force. RDA has established operations in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra and Melbourne and is rapidly growing its Australian footprint to deliver system solutions and capability to the ADF in the areas of mobility, lethality, reconnaissance, protection, and sustainment.

Rheinmetall's Graduate Program

Our graduate program provides a platform to launch your career in the defence industry, providing a strong technical foundation while offering opportunities to work on innovative projects and future technologies. 

All graduates are offered permanent positions from the outset, and we have two main intakes in January and July each year.

Our week-long Induction Program provides an in-depth introduction to our business and projects.

Rotations give graduates exposure to a variety of teams, projects and locations providing them an understanding of the potential career pathways available.

Mentoring and support is provided to all graduates, with peer mentors who help them settle in and technical mentors who guide their development and provide career direction. 

Development is a focus at all stages of our employee’s careers but particularly early on from a technical, safety and professional standpoint. 

Our graduates are supported to:

• Implement design solutions under the guidance of experienced supervisors and mentors,
• Support the development and verification of prototypes and to-be-delivered components and systems,
• Develop skills and attain knowledge while on the job and by participating in targeted training and mentorship programs.

To be eligible for our graduate intakes you must:

• Be in the final year of an Honours degree (or higher) in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical or Software Engineering
• Hold or be eligible to obtain NV1 Australia Security Clearance (e.g. be an Australian citizen or hold permanent residency with the view to obtaining citizenship)
• Have excellent communication skills.
