The first week onboarding and inductions informed me of everything I needed to know and who I needed to contact. My 'on the job' training was enlightening and I learned more about some of the software engineering tools and processes in one week of being at RDA than I did at Uni.

Training has been very much on the job with close oversight. I have enjoyed this way of training as you get to be involved with real projects and anything that needs clarification can be discussed in real time.

I have gained some unbelievable skills and training from the senior engineers who are kind enough to take the time out of their schedule to teach me. One of the other young engineers was able to organise a TAFE course where some basic machining and welding techniques were taught. It would be invaluable if the company itself could organise more courses like that, especially in manufacturing processes.

Unfortunately, after working in the company for approximately 18 months I haven't had any officially registered training. The company does well at giving you small tasks first and progressing you onto bigger tasks.
