Your role

Legal field services team description:

  • Legal Field Services is a group consisting of 2 attorneys and eight paralegals based in New York.
  • Field Services is a part of Branch Advisory Legal, which in turn is a group within the Legal and Compliance Division of Morgan Stanley.
  • The offshore Legal and Compliance Department in Mumbai is a department of the Legal and Compliance Division and provides support services to the Legal and Compliance Division.
  • This role will form part of the offshore Legal and Compliance Department in Mumbai and Legal Field Services

Roles and responsibilities for interns:

This position will address issues relating to outside (non-Morgan Stanley drafted) powers of attorney viz –

  • Review and outlining of the powers of the agent under the power of attorney and general legal matters that relate to powers of attorney applied to client accounts;
  • Addressing branch inquiries
  • Conducting legal research
  • Drafting a summary of the powers granted to the agent under a power of attorney and advising branch personnel on relevant powers of the agent under the power of attorney and the law applicable to the powers of attorney
