The Risk Analytics team in Mumbai is part of the Market Risk Analytics and Scenario Analytics teams of the firm. The Market Risk Analytics team is a methodology team responsible for the development, enhancement, and periodic updates of risk models for the firm’s portfolios for the Market Risk department.

Your role

They are looking for highly motivated quantitative strategists for their Research Strats team. The individual will work closely with a team of fixed-income research strategists in New York and London to help expand our analytics toolkit, analyze data sets to identify trends and patterns and apply statistical and machine learning techniques to produce cutting-edge insights for Research publication.

They offer high-impact projects with peers in New York and London. Your contributions will be visible and you will have the opportunity to gain insight into the fascinating world of banking and finance, coauthor and publish research reports, and interact with Morgan Stanley clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with fixed-income research strategists globally to develop and maintain data analysis infrastructures
  • Acquire, clean, maintain, and analyze data sets to identify trends and patterns
  • Develop quantitative models using econometrics and machine learning algorithms
  • Build web applications to monitor market movements and develop interactive tools to make quantitative models user friendly
  • Respond to bespoke data analysis requests from clients and internal stakeholders
  • Automate delivery of reports and data packs to clients

Training, Development & Rotations

The MSFS Internship Program has been designed to develop highly motivated professionals by providing a stimulating and supportive environment to understand the business and achieve maximum potential.  On joining, you will go through a training program that covers business process and systems training.

Summer Associates spend eight-ten weeks working on live projects, understanding the business workings and how Investor Services supports Morgan Stanley and its businesses.

About You

The requirements for the role are as follows:

Skills and Qualification:

  • Master's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Financial Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, or Economics
  • Fresh graduate or 1-4 years of experience in relevant roles
  • Experience with statistical model development, modeling best practices and methodologies in the areas of data processing, sampling, model design/specification
  • Hands-on experience in any programing language (Python, C++, Q, Perl, JavaScript)
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A genuine interest and understanding of financial markets
  • Candidates should be analytical, insightful, quick learners, team players, and multi-taskers, with a positive attitude
