Continual trainig and learning. I have developed a good knowledge and acquired some skills through my role. I am sure I will acquire much more knowledge and skills in the future.

Training is excellent. We are given mentors from multiple different stages in their careers meaning we have differing levels of experience to lean on when needed. We are entered in to many courses which help to give a strong overview of the tax system. We also have the opportunity to register for courses if we believe that they will help our development. All forms of learning and development, whether that be social, formal, oral, written etc. are given significant importance at IR. Not just for graduates but for advisors of all levels.

Good broad induction week when we first started. Lots of opportunities for courses. A lot of the courses are on the parliamentary process, the tax system, and the policymaking process. A lot of knowledge base courses.

There is a formal internal graduate programme which consists of the initial induction, policy technical sessions (introducing various policy topics), action groups (discussing topics as a graduate cohort), buddy and mentor systems. There is are also plenty of external courses that you go on. For example, I have gone on GST courses, enviro economics courses, policy to legislation courses, etc.
