Pros & Cons

  • Exposure to large clients - Lots of lateral opportunity post-grad pathway - Exposure to different roles - Experience in a large corporation
  • There are a lot of opportunities available within DSC, as a graduate you have a lot of different pathways you can explore.
  • I enjoy that as a graduate I can easily reach out to different people in the company for advice or potential opportunities.
  • DHL Supply Chain is probably the best workplace to learn how to run a logistics and supply chain operation. It doesn't matter what department within the company you work in, you will pick up a lot of detailed knowledge around supply chain operations, which in turn sets you up for a long career in the industry.
  • Salary - Hours are inconsistent - Isolation from other graduates
  • Mixed experiences between grads - no structure towards the start of my program - used as free labour in my opinion throughout 1-2 of my 5 rotations
  • Coffee.
  • Office location can be a bit hard to get to personally.

Within the graduate program, there is a lot of support. Executive leadership show an interest in graduates as the future of the business. The people are nice and supportive in the teams I have worked with. There are some out-of-office social events but they are not super common. My experience was very quick and simple. Video interview was required, shortly after this was followed by a group interview and then an individual presentation followed by a panel interview with questions.

DHL's supply chain relies heavily on bonuses for pay for the average corporate employee, this can be a disadvantage for Australian workers due to how bonuses are taxed. Otherwise, pay for most mid-senior roles is exactly the industry average.
